Lake Constance is not only charming for holiday-makers.This pre-alpine lake with mild climate and its cultural surroundings is also the ideal destination for neurological patients. Kliniken Schmieder have provided their services and done research there for more than 50 years with the professed aim of improving the life perspectives for neurologically ill patients. Our clinic in Allensbach – one of six clinics – is situated near the City of Constance facing the island of Reichenau which UNESCO included on the World Heritage List. Only 10 kilometres from Allensbach is the Swiss border.

International recognition
Kliniken Schmieder represent neurological rehabilitation in Europe. For more than 50 years we have treated neurological patients of all syndromes and severities. The rehabilition success of our patients is the basis of our work and made us the market leader. We create an atmosphere which gives security and encourages the patients to make a new start.
For many decades we have performed research together with several universities in the fields of language, cognition, and motion. In our own training centre ZENITH we offer intensive further education and training for our own employees, but also for the entire rehabilitation sector.

Comfortable accomodation.
You live in a comfortable room suitable for wheelchairs, with a balcony and a spacious bathroom. Most of the rooms look to the South, with a view over Lake Constance. All rooms have a comfortable electric bed, telephone, Internet access, TV set, room safe, hair dryer, dressing gown and bathing sandals. If needed, there are 2-room apartments available with an additional studio couch and kitchenette. They are ideal for accommodating the accompanying persons or guests of the patients.
Feel at home with us: We offer many additional services; e.g. your personal newspaper, fresh fruit, and, of course, attractive programmes for your leisure time and excursions.

Individual medical care.
After your arrival, your attending physician develops together with you a treatment plan which determines the individual therapies according to your individual therapeutic goal. Our medical service includes daily contacts with your physician as well as all therapeutic and nursing tasks. Applications are also offered to the accompanying persons.
